The city was soaked by 14 millimetres of rain by 9am on Saturday, according to the Bureau of Meteorology, with rainfall continuing into the day.
NSW State Emergency Services spokesperson Jason Simms said that the sudden downpour of rain created five jobs for crews in the span of 24-hours.
Most of the jobs reported water entering homes across the city caused by overflowing gutters, he said.
"Wagga received 14mm, which doesn't sound like a lot, but it came all of sudden in a short period of time," he said.
Mr Simms said it is important that people prepare their homes ahead of weather events in the future and ensure their gutters are kept clean. He said residents should also be mindful of any flash flooding on roads.
