And The Rock trainer Brian Smith is confident he's much improved for the Ladbrokes Monthly Medal 5th grade final (400m).
Ultimate Speed split three wins in the Riverina with a fifth behind millionaire Good Odds Harada at Wentworth Park earlier this month.
Ultimate Speed was on the quick back up when he won his heat and Smith believes he will be better suited by a longer gap between races.
"The hard run had told on him as it was only five days (between races) but he is alright now," Smith said.
Ultimate Speed injured a toe in the Million Dollar Chase heats at Temora last month, which set him back on his comeback trail.
However he's won three of his four starts, including equalling a track record at Temora, since then plus a fifth in another Million Dollar Chase qualifier.
"He hurt himself at Temora and it just threw me right out," Smith said.
"I had to go the hard way with the semis at Wenty and he has underdone.
"He hasn't had a 500-metre race for 12 months."
Smith is pleased to come up with box two with Flash Morson, who he beat in the heats last week, drawn inside him.
Smith also lines up Dust Storm on the 10-race card while wife Joanne has Epsom Express engaged.
Dust Storm hasn't finished a top four finish in his last six runs.
The first race is at 3.47pm.
