That was the attitude of residents, volunteers and organisations as they banded together for a "spring clean" in Tolland.
Michael Whiteside, district manager of housing for Department of Communities and Justice, said Wednesday was all about giving residents a chance to clean up their suburb.
"It's a spring cleaning opportunity to get rid of large and bulky items," he said.
"We have done this a lot of the last few years in Ashmont, Kooringal and Tolland, but unfortunately, due to COVID, we had to postpone the Tolland one.
"We know not everyone in the community has a car or a ute to get to the tip, so this is a good opportunity for them to get out."
The last clean-up in December 2019, we got rid of 13 tonnes of general waste including 42 mattresses, 34 tyres and 2.2 tonnes of scrap metal.
Mr Whiteside said while a bit of garbage might only seem like a small thing, it can add up. He added Tolland residents had shown their pride for the community by coming out in full force to clean up.
Daniel Strickland, the regional leader for Mission Australia, said cleaning up housing estates was a part of the Tenant Participation and Community Engagement initiative.
