The 33-year-old, who played 161 games in the NRL, returned for his first Group Nine experience in 15 years after linking with Young after Toronto Wolfpack withdrew from the English Super League.
Their future is set to be determined at the end of the month and McCrone is waiting on that decision before deciding what his next move is.
"We will see what happens over there as if they are back in there will be some decisions to make," McCrone said. "They have to work out what is happening over there first."
McCrone and his Wolfpack teammates haven't been paid since May.
He had an agreement with club officials to commit to another season before the coronavirus struck.
McCrone admitted he's received plenty of interest after a five-game stint with the Cherrypickers.
The halfback won his first four games with the club, to see them through to the preliminary final, before suffering a 22-8 loss to Tumut at Anzac Park last month.
He enjoyed his time at the club and thought they could have really challenged with more time together.
"The five games were fantastic," McCrone said.
"I had a lot of fun and was living a normal life - having a job and playing on the weekend - it could be the new normal for me."
McCrone and his young family returned to Temora in August after electing to come home from the UK.
However with the Dragons set to line up in the 2021 competition another season with Young seems unlikely.
"It wouldn't be ideal to play against Temora," McCrone said.
"She is a small town so I've bumped into a few people."
It comes after the Dragons elected a new president at the club's second attempt at their annual general meeting on the weekend.
Adam Gidley has stepped into the presidency with Anthony Madden now junior vice president.
Long-serving Group Nine president Jack Morton is senior vice president.
Mark Hughes remains secretary but the club is still looking for a treasurer.
