The details of Ms Berejiklian's private life were exposed on Monday morning as the premier took the stand at inquiry, which is investigating allegations of Mr Maguire's breached public trust and used parliamentary resources for personal gain.
She told ICAC she had a "close personal relationship" with Mr Maguire from about 2015 until she ceased contact with him several months ago when she was privately questioned by ICAC.
Ms Berejiklian, who is not accused of any wrongdoing, told ICAC she requested Mr Maguire's resignation in 2018 when he was first questioned by ICAC, but remained in contact with him because "he was someone who was in a very bad state".
She said the relationship was not generally known among members of parliament.
Ms McKay has called for the premier's resignation and intends to move a motion of no confidence following the "extraordinary evidence" revealed at the inquiry.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"It shows a recklessness from the leader of this state. It show poor judgement from the leader of this state," she said.
"She has no choice but to resign ... she cannot possibly stay the premier of this state.
"We need a leader who is honest, who has the interests of the citizens of NSW at heart - not the interests of disgraced MP's like Daryl Maguire."
Ms McKay said, it is of her opinion, that the "whole government is rotten"
"I have been saying integrity matters. Trust in our government matters and standards of ministers matter. She has protected every minister who has behaved badly and now we know why, it is because she has behaved badly," she said.
Ms Berejiklian is due to address the media at 4.30pm.
