In the first incident, on January 6, a pizza delivery driver was threatened with a knife by an unknown man who demanded cash before punching him in the head.

The driver - who was returning to his workplace in Wagga CBD about 10.50pm - complied and the offender fled on foot with cash.

Riverina Police District Detective Acting Inspector Phil Malligan urged the public to look out for a man described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged in his mid-40s and of a thin build.

"He was wearing a dark hooded puffer jacket at the time of the incident," he said.

Police are also continuing their investigations into a second incident where an unknown man - not believed to be related to the earlier incident - forced his way into a home on Kennedy Avenue, Kooringal.

The offence occurred about 6am on July 14, when the man is reported to have produced a firearm and threatened the male occupant of the home.

He then stole cash, a safe and a mobile phone, and struck the resident with the butt of the firearm.

The victim sustained minor injuries.

"The unknown man is described as being approximately 180cm tall, between 20 and 30 years old, and of a medium build," Detective Inspector Malligan said.

"He was wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident."

Detective Inspector Malligan urged anyone with information or footage of either attack to come forward.

"Please report anything you may know to either Wagga police, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000," he said.

"You can even report anonymously if you wish."

As investigations continue, Detective Inspector Malligan said he hoped to catch the offenders before anyone else was harmed.

"The fear of somebody forcing their way into a house, or being assaulted in your own home is something police take very seriously," he said.

"Aside from the physical trauma on these individuals, the emotional trauma lingers with a person, and no victim deserves to be a part of an incident like that."
