But that feeling of confinement brought to light a charitable idea to help the struggling art communities of Wagga.

For a month, starting on October 10, the Sydney-based student will host and curate a completely virtual art exhibition featuring up to 15 Riverina artists, including many with disabilities.

"Art is super important to the community, I realised that when I was at the Biennale in Sydney," Ms Lambert said.

"It was so amazing walking around these artworks and it reminded me of how important it is."

With a $5 entry cost, Ms Lambert decided to host her exhibition to raise funds for two charities - Beyond Blue and The Healing Foundation - both of which she describes as being acutely topical and important this year.

"I chose Beyond Blue because there's been a lot of talk about mental health this year, and I understand why even from my minimal experience in quarantine," she said.

"Way back in March when I was living at the Women's College at Sydney Uni, someone in my tutorial tested positive [for COVID-19], so I had to spend four days in quarantine.

"It was only those four days but it was horrible, I really feel for those who have to do two weeks, it must be so detrimental to their mental health."

Additionally, The Healing Foundation supports survivors of the Stolen Generation and their families. Ms Lambert chose to raise awareness for this charity after the Black Lives Matter movement took hold around the world.

Curating the works for her exhibition has been an experience unlike any other Ms Lambert has had, and has been particularly challenging due to its virtual nature.

"This is the first time I've ever attempted to curate anything," she said.

"It's a virtual gallery, but it's also a physical space that you can 'walk around' via your phone or your computer, or even with virtual reality technology, if you've got it."

The virtual gallery will be accessible via web and mobile on the Exhibit platform, with the link to be sent out on the opening night.
