Does anyone know what time of year it is? It's definitely harder to keep track of these days as many of our traditional markers have generally gone out the window.
The weather certainly didn't have a clue at the weekend. Winter decided it wasn't ready to close the door on 2020 completely - unlike the rest of us.
No, Mother Nature instead decided a dumping of snow an hour-and-a-half away from Wagga just days out from October was just what the doctor ordered.
The wintry chill couldn't stop the city though. Despite the cold and the wind, thousands turned out in COVID-appropriate streams for grand final deciders in Southern Inland and Group Nine.
Normally by now we would be well and truly into the break between football and cricket but here we are, celebrating the wins after what will go down as the most unique season in living memory.
More in Opinion:
Most other years, footy fans on a national scale would be getting ready this week, breaking out their grand final gear.
Or doing their best to forget about the season they just endured (Broncos fans can no doubt relate after that rollercoaster). Instead - for those comfortable enough in doing so - it's a bloodbath trying to secure tickets to the first round of finals.
So if you've caught yourself wondering where the year has gone or suddenly realised that daylight saving is looming, you're not alone.
School holidays are here, which seems to be a marker for border restriction changes, so at least we have that to help re-centre our sense of time.
Somehow, it's 88 days until Christmas, and there are plenty of fingers crossed for freer movement and eased social gathering rules.
Wagga's shopkeepers are starting to fill their shelves with festive goodies in preparation for a silly season that could look very different to years gone by.
COVID-19 may have warped our collective sense of time, but there's no doubting it's managing to fly by. There's still a lot to love about 2020 - even if it does feel a little weird at times.
