Around 1000 people streamed through the Conolly Rugby Complex gates over the course of the day to cheer on teams from Wagga, Leeton and Albury fight it out for the pandemic year title.
It was an all-Wagga affair in the top grade and the women's big game, and supporters from right around the region turned out for a day that will go down in history.
Wagga City broke a 44-year-old hoodoo, surviving a late scare from Waratahs to take out its first premiership since 1976.
Leeton left their season of perfection with a win over Albury, while womens' powerhouse CSU were toppled by arch-rivals Ag College.
