The person tested positive to COVID-19 in Victoria earlier this week, before a subsequent test in NSW returned a negative result.
Further serology returned another negative test on Friday afternoon, with an expert panel confirming the person was negative for COVID-19.
The person and their close contacts had been placed in precautionary isolation since the original positive result while awaiting the further testing.
No new cases were reported across the Murrumbidgee Local Health District today, as the state reports just one locally acquired case linked to a known outbreak and five new cases in hotel quarantine.
NSW Health is reminding the public that despite low case numbers, the virus is still circulating in the community.
Anyone with the mildest symptoms should isolate and seek testing.
Call the Murrumbidgee COVID-19 Hotline on 1800 831 099 to book a test.
