The Wolves' premiership hopes will be on the line as they look to upstage Young and replace them in fourth position for the Pascoe Cup finals series.
A draw will be enough for Young to progress, while the Wolves must down the Lions on their home turf to reclaim fourth place for finals.
While a win is a must, Irlam does not want the Wolves to go away from what they have been doing as they chase the all-important three points.
"I don't want to change too much the way we go about playing our game," Irlam said.
"I've said it a few times lately, the difference between us winning some of the games the last few weeks and losing them has just been our ability to finish our chances.
"I want us to keep playing the way we've been playing and just impress upon, particularly the guys in our front three and our attacking midfield, just how important it is that we take those chances.
"The game against Leeton two weeks ago, we had a really, really clear chance in the first 15 minutes of the game and if we put that in the back of the net then I think that changes the whole game.
"We've got to keep playing the way we've been playing and take our chances. That started to show in the game against Wagga United on the weekend. We finished off a few of our chances and that made the difference. It just made it really hard for Wagga United to work their way back into the game."
Irlam said it would only be late in the game, if the win is still up for grabs, that he would send the Wolves on an all-out attack.
"I'm not going to change up any of the things we've been doing but if it's still tight in the back end of the game, we're just going to be throwing the kitchen sink at them and they might not, they might just be trying to repel everything that we throw at them and hope they get away with a draw," he said.
The Wolves go into the game on the back of a season-saving 3-1 win over Wagga United. Irlam is happy with how they are building.
"Yeah, I think the last two weeks have been our best games," he said.
"If you're talking to anyone they'd be saying if you're going to peak at any time of the year, now is the time to start to do that. I hope that's what we're doing.
"The game against Leeton was really, really good and the 2-0 loss there definitely doesn't reflect the effort and the game we played over there that weekend. And the 3-1 win against Wagga United was reasonably indicative of what we deserved to get away with there.
"We've just got to replicate it again on Sunday. The winner takes all really, so it's a massive, massive game."
The Wolves are set to be without Caylum Barber due to suspension after he received his third yellow card last week.
But they hope to welcome back Fawaz Baqi and Eli Abbas for some minutes from hamstring injuries.
