An armed bandit is on the loose after a woman's car was stolen at knifepoint in a car park in Griffith on Monday.

Police are appealing for information from the public after the vehicle was stolen in broad daylight as the driver parked it during the afternoon.
Around 4pm on Monday, a woman parked her silver Volkswagon Polo in a car park between Yambil Street and Canal Street before she was approached by a man armed with a knife.
The man threatened the woman, demanding she put the handbag in the car, turn the engine on and leave.
The woman complied and the man drove away. The woman was not harmed.
Murrumbidgee Police District officers have started an investigation and have released a description of a man they would like to speak to.

The man is of Caucasian appearance, with a medium build, aged in his 50s, around 170 to 180 centimetres tall, with short grey hair and a short grey beard.
He was wearing a grey sports polo shirt, black pants, a dark hooded jumper and black frameless sunglassess.
