Launched on Wednesday, Miss Amelie Gourmet is an offshoot of Wodonga's fine dining restaurant Miss Amelie.
The new service is set to reach Wagga foodies within the month, offering restaurant-quality reheatable fare, housemade pies, artisan bread and pastries, pantry supplies, cheese, charcuterie, wine and more.
Miss Amelie co-owner and executive chef David Kapay said the new food store and home delivery service would serve as a click and collect option for Wagga in the first month of business.
"More than 400 items are listed on the website, available for home delivery to Albury, Wangaratta, Corowa, Yarrawonga, Beechworth and surrounds to a timetable," he said.
Miss Amelie Gourmet is a joint venture by Miss Amelie owners David and Sally Kapay and business partners Ken and Rachel Little and Jim and Nicky Myers.
The concept has been in the pipeline since the coronavirus crisis impacted the hospitality sector for the first time in March.
It will employ six in the kitchen and 12 overall.
Mr Kapay said Miss Amelie Gourmet would offer dry aged fish among the specialty food products.
"It's definitely unique to the region; we are one of the few places outside Sydney to focus on that," he said.
"The flavour is incredible as is the texture and all-round umami (savoury) flavours."
He said they were looking at premises in Canberra and eventually wanted a presence in Melbourne too.
Mr Kapay opened Miss Amelie in Junction Place, Wodonga, in June 2016 before adding Little Miss wine bar to the restaurant foyer in May 2018.
The chef trained on the Border before working in England in restaurants owned by celebrity chefs Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay.
