Voices 4 Riverina took its origins from the similarly named Voices For Indi which formed in 2012 out of Wangaratta, Victoria.
Hosting Thursday night 'kitchen table conversations', founding member Declan Young told The Daily Advertiser that group hopes to "find out what the Riverina wants from our elected leaders" and chart a path towards ensuring greater community conversation in local politics.
"We're still yet to discover what it is people want for their region, but broadly we think they would want someone elected who is listening to what they want," Mr Young said.
"People can feel like they're forgotten by the political parties in power. Even though we're not a political party in ourselves, we want to find a way to express our political ideas."
Currently meeting in Wagga, the group has already garnered up to 20 members.
