This decision makes the library even more accessible to the entire Wagga community, and comes after extensive community consultation and endorsement by council in July.
Apart from providing more time for customers to browse and borrow items, our Sunday opening hours will allow families with young children to visit more easily on weekends.
Additionally, patrons using the library's public computers for online job seeking, applications and resumes will have more access outside the normal working week.
Library staff are always available to help with any customer inquiries.
Our COVID-19 safe practices continue, with returned items in quarantine, shared surfaces regularly sanitised, visitor numbers limited to 50, and timed visits to a maximum of one hour.
We encourage the whole community to use their local library, now available seven days a week.
Baby Bounce at Home
'Baby Bounce at Home', our early literacy program for children aged 0-12 months and their caregivers, has proven a great success in its first two weeks.
Dozens of our free take-home kits have been collected from the library, and we are preparing more.
'Baby Bounce at Home' teaches caregivers how to use rhythm, rhyme, and songs while physically playing and communicating with a baby.
Our take-home kit, "Babies Love Books", contains a board book, booklets of rhymes and songs, and an accompanying DVD.
The library's presenter Jeannie Hazell has also created a series of videos on our website, taking caregivers through the basics of early literacy, followed by practical video demonstrations using her own small volunteers.
Visit the library for your take-home 'Baby Bounce at Home' kit, and sign up as a new member. Videos are available on our website, waggalibrary.com.au.
