Rian Ross Toyer, 32, was arrested and charged over the death of Rowell Polan Bruno, who is also known by the first name Mhelody, almost a year ago.
The 25-year-old transgender woman was found unresponsive at a Tarcutta Street unit on September 21 last year.
Paramedics conducted CPR and rushed her to Wagga Base Hospital, where she died the next day.
It is alleged Toyer caused Ms Bruno's death by choking her.
In Wagga Local Court on Wednesday, Toyer's lawyer Zac Tankard entered a guilty plea to the manslaughter charge.
The case is being prosecuted by the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The court previously heard the matter had been resolved at a case conference and was ready to proceed to sentence.
Magistrate Christopher Halburd accepted the guilty plea and committed Toyer for sentence in the district court.
The case has been listed for sentence in Wagga District Court on October 9.
Toyer remains on bail.
