TRAC had a bit too much polish when they went forward and made the most of their entries inside 50 to run out winners 3.3 (21) to 1.1 (7) in a shortened game at Robertson Oval on Monday.
Promising forward Sam Stening was a late withdrawal due to injury but it did not stop TRAC from opening their campaign with a win.
Jacob Manley provided a strong focal point in attack and kicked TRAC's first two goals, before Ethan Weidemann soccered through their third.
Joe Morton got Kildare back within two points early in the second half but TRAC responded with the final two goals of the game.
TRAC coach Michael Glanvill thought it was a strong start to his school's campaign.
"It was. It was a pretty tight contest but I thought the boys stood up halfway through the second half when Kildare challenged us. They stood up and get the job done," Glanvill said.
"(Converting) is pretty important when you've got limited time, whoever makes the most of those chances is probably going to win."
Gerard Okerenyang impressed in the ruck for TRAC, while Billy Glanvill won a lot of the footy in the opening half.
Matt Hamblin and Sam McCready had plenty of the footy, while Sam McNaughton was another to impress.
Kildare were well served by Tom Sase, Riley Browning and Ano Matowe.
While also hoping to add some more silverware to TRAC's cabinet, Glanvill said the focus was on enjoying the opportunity to play Carroll Cup, something that was in serious doubt last term due to COVID.
"This year it's a bit more about having a bit of fun, which it is all of the time, but this year it seems a bit less serious," he said.
"The boys are keen to do well so hopefully they can keep playing the way they did tonight."
