The bridge is expected to reopen to traffic sometime in the morning, weather permitting, after being closed for more than six months for a multi-million dollar upgrade.
The council's plans to open the bridge earlier this month were pushed back due to wet weather.
The $10.6 million upgrade included the widening and strengthening of the bridge deck, which will lift the load limit to allow for any vehicle to travel across it in the years to come.
The upgraded bridge is expected to be a key piece of infrastructure for the Wagga High Productivity Freight Route, which will provide better access to the Bomen Industrial Park and connections to the Olympic Highway.
Heavy vehicles accessing Bomen and North Wagga have been diverted through the CBD while construction has been underway.
The council has previously said the upgrade will reduce heavy vehicle traffic in the Wagga CBD area and the new route has the potential to save up to 36 minutes on a round trip.
