The variety, called Pioneer 44Y90 (CL) , has benefited from great seasonal conditions including 28-millimetres of rain in the past week.
It is typical of many of the canola crops that can be found throughout the Riverina, which have quickly painted an image of golden success across the region.
"It looks fantastic," Mr Langtry said from the paddock on Monday.
He compared the result to that of 2016 but said this year the crop might be even better with more favourable seasonal conditions.
While the canola was looking great, he said the other winter crops in the southern NSW property were also performing well too.
The canola will be harvested from mid to late November and the milder conditions have benefited the crop.
Mr Langtry said the moisture profile in the soil was good and each time rain arrived the ground got wet quite quickly.
A combination of the wetter conditions last week, and the upcoming warmer weather forecasts bode well for the winter cropping outlook in general.
"Everything is looking really good ... we have barely and wheat and they are getting quite a bit of bulk," he said.
"This is one of the best seasons we have had," he said.
"So far it is a fantastic start ... and we are lucky here because the soil drains really well," he said.
