The Bulls had no answers for Gundagai's attack as they failed to score in the 38-0 loss on Sunday.
Scoring hadn't been a problem for the side, who averaged 27 points a game before the Anzac Park shocker.
Captain-coach Nathan Rose is looking for more from their attack to ensure a clash with Young at Alfred Oval on Sunday isn't their last.
"Our attack wasn't the best so we have to get back to training, go over where we need to work on to improve next week," Rose said.
"They have a few quality players in their team but for us we have to work on the areas we need to work on and hopefully that can get us over the line for a win."
Rose thought a high error rate proved costly.
Young went around Southcity and into fourth place two rounds out before finals.
With a bye to come in the final round, Rose is looking for the chance to finish on a high to keep their hopes alive.
While the Bulls welcomed back Luke McBeath and Cody Hodge for the clash but both Josh Siegwalt and Laurie Bamblett failed to play out the game.
