But the talented team is powering through a memorable year, all the same.
The Diesels' 42-0 win against Turvey Park last Saturday was their fifth straight win in as many games.
With Group Nine Junior Rugby League making the shortened 2020 season all about participation, there won't be a finals series at the end of nine home-and-away rounds.
But with four games to go, the girls can set their sights on an unbeaten record.
"For a fair few of them, it's their last year (in juniors) so they're a bit disappointed that they're undefeated and won't have finals. But it is what it is, they're just happy to be on the field and going really well," Junee secretary and registrar Katrina Bradley said.
The team, coached by Damien Field, is gelling well having mostly come right through juniors together. Abbey Field is a speedster while the arrival of Ruby Watterson from Temora has helped a consistent team.
"They all do it, they're all excelling. Every single one of them has improved, they all do their bit and they don't rely on one person to do everything," Bradley said.
The Diesels have three games left, including a date with Kangaroos, who they just beat 8-4 last time.
Bradley said the club has been proud of their teams saying it's been an "extremely good" year.
Junee's under 12s leaguetag are also unbeaten while the Geoff Bush-coached under 14 boys have had just one loss (to Cootamundra, their grand final rivals of last season) and enjoyed a 44-6 win against Kangaroos.
"They've lost a few boys this year, the 14s boys, and we've had a few 13s boys backing up each week for them, so they're doing extremely well. They (the 14s) have only had one year of not being in a grand final so they're a very competitive team," Bradley said.
Talented sportsman Jaxson Allen is a gun for the Diesels but "once again, they all get in and do what they have to do... including a lot of our 13s who back up, which is great" according to Bradley.
The Diesels under 13s had had three wins and a draw before their first lost last week, going down 16-10 to Kangaroos, who were the southern pool champions last year.
Bradley said it's been "extremely good" to see their teams performing impressively. She estimates the club lost 20-30 players across the grades this year due to the shortened season without finals, around 10 percent of its registered players.
