The driver of a suspected stolen vehicle has been airlifted after it slammed into parked truck trailers in the western Riverina.

A white Mazda Bravo ute was discovered crashed through the fence and into trailers parked in a truck yard at Hay around 9.25am on Saturday.
Witnesses who came across the crash, at the intersection of Murray Street and Dunera Way, raised the alarm by calling Triple 0, police said.
A multi-level response was required at the scene to free the driver from the smashed wreck, with police and paramedics joined by crews from Fire and Rescue NSW and the State Emergency Service to release the man from the vehicle.

After more than an hour, the driver was removed from the cab.
Murrumbidgee Police District's Sergeant Cherie Knox said the man was airlifted to St George Hospital for further treatment.
Mandatory testing was carried out while the man was still in the Hay hospital.
