The clinic opened at 9am this morning, with people able to make appointments by calling the COVID hotline on 1800 831 099.
No new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the Murrumbidgee today.
Murrumbidgee Local Health District disaster manager Denise Garner said people are also able to drop in to the clinic, which has the capacity for about 200 tests each day.
"We accept people who walk in. Anyone who wants to get tested today and walks into the clinic will be able to register and tested," she said.
Once someone arrives at the clinic, they will be greeted at the entry door and asked if they currently have symptoms.
IN OTHER NEWS:
There will be masks and hand sanitiser available at the door.
People will then queue along socially distanced 'X' marks on the floor while they wait to be registered.
They will then queue in a different section of the hall to have their swab tests done.
"It's a quicker process for someone who already has an appointment with the clinic," Ms Garner said.
Ms Garner said the clinic had been established to cater for the seasonal increase of cold and flu symptoms - which can also be symptoms of COVID-19.
She said the new clinic would have a much larger capacity than the earlier clinic at the hospital.
"The hospital clinic resources have been relocated to here. So this clinic will replace the clinic that was available at Wagga Base Hospital," she said.
She thanked the show society for their support in providing halls for the new clinic.
