About 12.30pm on Thursday, officers from the Riverina Police District visited a premises on Hoskins Street, Temora, to monitor compliance with the Public Health Order.

Police first noticed there was no sign-in book on arrival at the pub, and when officers asked the licensee to provide information around their COVID-19 Safety Plan, the man claimed to not speak English.

Officers established that no steps had been taken by the business to comply with the ministerial direction and so was issued with a $5000 penalty infringement notice, while the licensee was issued with a $1000 PIN for the same offence.

In a separate incident earlier in the week, officers from the Murrumbidgee Police District went to a Griffith house to conduct a compliance check on three men.

The men, who are Malaysian Nationals, had travelled into NSW from Victoria earlier in the week.

Inquiries revealed the men - aged 22, 28 and 34 - had been going to pick fruit at local farms and therefore not self-isolating as required under their exemption permit to enter NSW.

The men were subsequently each issued with $1000 PIN for failing to comply.

Local police have also referred inquiries into the men's immigration status to Australian Border Force.
