With Pearce unavailable with work commitments, new recruit Michael Fenn will start for the first time at Twickenham on Sunday.
Fenn has impressed in his first two games for the club and Blues co-coach Dean Bristow is confident he can step up to the mark.
"Luckily this year we've got some ample replacements for our middle rotation," Bristow said.
"Obviously is it a massive loss having Jeddy out but someone like Fenn will step straight into his role and do a great job."
Another new face, Tevita Aroha-Tuinauvai, is also unavailable after scoring a double in his first game for the club last week.
However the Blues will welcome Brayden Draber (hamstring) and Connor Massen (head knock) back into the back line.
Both missed the win over Kangaroos.
