Brothers are two from two and sit on top of the Group Nine ladder after wins over Kangaroos and Southcity to kick off their campaign.

But their depth will be seriously tested over the next few weeks, starting with a clash against Junee at Equex Centre on Sunday.

Scans have revealed Breust suffered a torn calf in last Saturday's win over Southcity, while Brayden Sharrock tore both his calf and hamstring.

To make matters worse, Brady Collins has a suspected torn ACL from an injury in reserve grade. He was set to feature in Breust's plans but is now out for the season.

"We obviously suffered some quite serious injuries on the weekend, which is unfortunate for the team," Breust said.

"We've just got to roll with the punches, we've got plenty of depth and I'm quite confident they can fill spots, which is good."

The three latest setbacks come on top of injuries to Cade Price (hamstring) and Connor McCauley (back) in the opening round.

While Collins and Sharrock are expected to be on the sidelines for an extended period, Breust has set his sights on a return against Gundagai on Sunday week.

"I was on the front foot early, I've done everything I can rehab wise. I don't know, I'll obviously make a call, it's a shortened season, I obviously don't want to rush it so I'll play it by ear," he said.

"It's not a bad tear. I'm confident that I've done everything I can to move forward and not be too long out. Gundagai in a fortnight, I want to be back for that game so fingers crossed."

Tyson McLachlan will replace Breust and join his brother Dylan in the halves. Nick Hay will join his brother James in the forward pack as the replacement for Sharrock.

"Tys, he'll go quite well for us and Nick Hay will jump in for Braydo," Breust said.

"Nick would have been apart of our first grade squad to start with but he's had some serious injuries in the last couple of years and we just wanted to make sure his body was right. He's shone in reserve grade, he's gone to a new level so he'll fit in quite easily."

Brothers will take on Junee on Rick Keast Memorial Day. The Diesels are coming off the bye, and went down in a tight one to Young in the opening round.

Breust says Brothers are preparing for the biggest challenge of their season to date.

"Obviously they'll be quite strong. They're going to be a bit of an unknown I think because they don't have too many locals this year," he said.

"We're preparing for a very tough game. We want to be three from three but I think this week is going to be our toughest test so far. The players that they have got, they've got some brilliant individuals in their team so we're going to have to be on our game that's for sure."
