Griffith police are investigating the theft of a dog from the city's pound.

A person has stolen a dog, a Shar Pei breed, between 4.45pm on July 24 and 1.45pm on July 25.
It's believed the person access the inside of the pound by going through one of the dog drop-off chutes.
A number of metal cages have been cut to get access to where animals are kept.
Pound staff noticed the missing animal and the damage when they arrived on Saturday for cleaning and feeding duties.
It's believed the dog is microchipped and that the animal had been brought to the pound on July 23.

Meanwhile in other police news, a 31-year-old driver will face Griffith Local Court after he was found driving while suspended.
At 4.30am on Monday, the driver was travelling along Kindergarten Lane in a red Holden Commodore sedan.
Officers say the driver pulled over and got out to enter a property.
The driver was asked for their licence but was unable to provide it, checks by police officers revealed the licence was suspended until September 2.
The driver was charged for driving while suspended and will face court at a later date.
