Operations director Warren Faulkner and project and strategy director Darren Raeck replaced the former commercial operations director Caroline Angel, who resigned from the position early last month.
The special activation precinct and RiFL Hub are two projects that have captured the interest of both directors.
Mr Raeck said the chance to be a part of an "iconic project" was a significant drawcard in this role. He said they are projects that present huge opportunities for Wagga, which already has so much to offer and many capital works currently in motion.
"The RiFL project is the most important one and is going to drive the economy here locally," he said.
In other news:
"It is taking Wagga from where it is to the next step of becoming a larger city. It's about the opportunities it provides and the connectivity to Sydney and Melbourne as a regional centre and hopefully making Wagga a bigger and better place."
Mr Raeck said his intention will be to "add value" to the council's day-to-day offerings in order to help the city move forward quicker.
Mr Faulkner, on the other hand, will have a focus on floodplain and asset management, as well as oversight of project delivery and operations.
He said his priority was to act as a mentor for the engineers coming through the ranks and ensure the council gets optimum results for its spend.
"Wagga has that big city feel, as well as the rural aspects which is certainly attractive to me," he said.
"What I like about local government is that it's the coalface. You are dealing with the community and providing infrastructure to your community so to speak."
