Donna and daughter Danielle combined for their first win together when Oamanikka ($3.50) took out the National Jockeys Trust Maiden Handicap (1050m).
Danielle has made a successful comeback to the jockey ranks over the past few months and was able to finally crack it for a win for her mother at Leeton.
She got well back on Oamanikka, who powered over the top of his rivals late to win by three quarters of a length.
It was the first leg of a winning double for Danielle, who was also successful on the Mitch Beer-trained Damselfly's Kept ($7.00).
The win of Oamanikka was an emotional one for Donna, who is extremely proud of the work her daughter is doing.
"It's her first winner for me so it's good," Donna told Sky Racing after the race.
"She's doing a great job with the kids, she does all the book work at home, does a lot around the stables so she's going well."
Oamanikka broke through at her second race start. She put the writing on the wall with a second placing behind Come Get Me at Wagga earlier in the month.
Donna rates the three-year-old high enough that he could be a Country Championships candidate.
"We had a big opinion of him early doors. He trialled nice, trialled behind Bennelong Dancer and then went out, come back and he just didn't come up so we tipped him out again," she said.
"He's been going really good, we're very happy. He's still a baby inside. He's still learning his trade.
"Hopefully he can go on with it now. Back on top of the ground...we thought he may have been a wet tracker but he's always worked well at home and hopefully he can go on with it. Maybe a Country Championships horse in the making."
