About 5am on Friday, officers from the Riverina Police District were alerted to reports of a break an enter at The Rock Foodworks.
Police attended the scene where they were told a quantity of cigarettes were allegedly taken.
Investigations commenced and a crime scene was established.
About 10.30am today, July 25, officers stopped a vehicle in Ashmont and arrested a 45-year-old man.
He is currently assisting police with their inquiries, and charges are yet to be laid.
The Foodworks was closed for a period of time but has since reopened to the public as of midday on Friday.
