Shane Hallcroft bore the brunt of the damage after First Prize and Uroc Baby, driven by Todd Day, locked wheels trying to avoid a galloping horse and sent Hallcroft flying in the Income Tax Professionals Pace (1740m).
Nathan Hoy (Seelster Shannon) was also unseated in the incident.
Trailing through Adam Richardson on Pyrrhic Dancer, Richardson couldn't avoid Hallcroft on the track but the Uranquinty trainer-driver admitted he was lucky to avoid serious injury.
"I did get run over by Pyrrhic Dancer but I'm alright," Hallcroft said.
While First Prize and Pyrrhic Dancer were late scratchings the race was re-run and Philip Bryce came out on top with Say It Again courtesy of the sprint lane.
After sparking the drama, Bryce was impressed by how Say It Again responded.
"The second time around I adjusted a bit of gear and it was probably the best he's ever gone," Bryce said.
The pair made it two wins in their last five starts after downing My Ultimate Sport to win by a half neck.
Earlier Hoy drove a double on the card.
First he tasted success for sister April with Cindarockinrella.
The seven-year-old had only been placed in two of her first 16 starts, but charged home to take out the TAB Odds & Evens Pace (2270m).
Hoy made it a race-to-race double with his own veteran Rodanthe Nights.
The 11-year-old brought up his 11th win in start 115.
