An IGA Xpress and a Cafe 24-7 have been confirmed for Hammond Avenue's newest petrol station, which is expected to be finished and open for business by the end of October.

The Hammond Avenue APCO will be one of the largest service station complexes in Wagga, with the 24-hour cafe and IGA stretching over four lots.
Owner Peter Anderson said they were currently searching for a Wagga resident who was "not afraid of hard work" to run the complex when it opens.
"The industry hasn't had a great track record in treating people well, but we're a different beast to a lot of others out there," Mr Anderson said.
"We're looking for somebody local, somebody who can be an operator for the site."
APCO will be the 20th petrol station to enter the Wagga market, and it will be an independent-run competitor to some of the larger franchises.
It will be situated at 101 to 107 Hammond Avenue, putting it right next to the Big4 Holiday Park and making it the 11th service station clustered around Sturt Highway.

There is high competition along that site according to the company's development application, which says the Hammond Avenue location has a highway exposure of about 20,000 cars per day.
Near the petrol station is the old Masters building, which is undergoing its own redevelopment into a HomeCo shopping complex.
The petrol will be supplied by Mobil as well as Viva Energy, which supplies Shell fuel.
The plan was a long time coming for Mr Anderson, who has been eyeing Wagga since 2000, but had come up against various complications.
In 2006, the company tried to buy the site on the corner of Hammond Avenue and Kooringal Road but was outbid by United.
In January 2017, APCO lodged a development application with Wagga City Council to turn a 1.09 hectare site in Edward Street into a service station with drive-through coffee window and a cafe.
However, the development application was eventually withdrawn after APCO was unable to met requirements set by the Roads and Traffic Authority for vehicle access to the proposed business.
This time around, however, their bid was successful, and construction is already underway in the lead-up to an October opening.
