The Wagga club only scored twice in the 30-10 loss to Brothers last week with the Kiwi moving into the starting side for Trae O'Neill.
Captain-coach Hayden Ashcroft hopes it can spark their attack taking on premiers Tumut at Equex Centre on Saturday.
"I'm hoping we get a bit more of a running game with him out wide there," Ashcroft said.
"It's the idea around him playing there as he went well when he was on.
"I want to take the line of a little bit more so I'll have the two halves who are not afraid to take the line on."
The change sees Jake Mascini move to halfback after a short-lived debut for the club.
Mascini came off second best attempting to tackle Brayden Sharrock after switching over from Wagga Tigers but Ashcroft thought he showed plenty of promising signs.
"I would have liked to have seen him play out the whole game but for a first game back in a while there were plenty of positives," he said.
"He's not afraid to get his body in front which is a big thing for a halfback."
Caleb Tohovaka also comes into the starting side at lock with Ashcroft shifting to the second row.
While Ashcroft was fairly pleased with the performance of the forward pack, he is looking to add more size to take on the Blues.
"We're looking to hold a bit of size in the middle and try to match them early in the piece," he said.
"I think we had a few defensive errors out wide from round one and it is more of an interchange thing to allow us having a later interchange.
"Tumut are a big pack and are going to be hard to contain but I think we did a good job in the middle against Brothers.
"I don't think we were outsized by any means and the points came from out wide."
Nick Baker drops back to the bench which has also seen the addition of Lachlan Jolliffe.
