Hat-tricks to Anthony Agresta and Daniel Johnson helped the home side walk away with a 9-0 victory as the new look side tries to find their feet.
After making a strong start but not being able to make the break through Johnson scored from the spot to get the scoring underway before Agresta and Jordan Bellato saw the home side go into the break up 3-0.
Coach Anthony Agresta urged his team to maintain their momentum in the second half.
"I didn't want it to be one of those games where it was just going through the motions," he said.
"We made a fair few changes and to go on with it when you are making a lot of changes can be difficult."
Two free kicks early in the second half allowed Johnson to compete his hat-trick before Agresta scored his second of the match after getting on the end of a Bellato free kick.
Hanwood continued their dominance with Michael Cimador and Joseph Catanzariti finding the back of the net before Agresta finished the game off with his third and Hanwood's ninth right on the final whistle.
Agresta said games like this are a great way for his side to start to build their combinations.
"At times we were getting a bit frustrated because the combinations weren't there," he said.
"We are still finding those combinations and it's still a work in progress but we have to take it week to week. Last week we started a bit slow and then had a better second half and this week was a bit better again.
"In two weeks we have tried a couple of different formations. We are just trying to find what works. It was probably a good game for us just to find some momentum."
With the grand final rematch against Lake Albert next weekend, Agresta was also pleased that his side were able to get through the game without any serious injuries while Sevi Tropea, who was in doubt for this weekend's game, also got through without aggravating his hamstring..
"There are a few niggles but we will see how we go during the week," he said.
"He (Tropea) got through probably a bit over half the game and we weren't expecting him to play this week and then he turned up to training and trained pretty well."
