The occupants managed to escape the house unharmed, and a team of 15 firefighters managed to extinguish the fire by around 1.30pm.
Turvey Park station officer Chad Kennis said that it was likely caused by a faulty electrical appliance, which is believed to have been picked up on the side of the road this week.
"The crew that went believe it was caused by a heating appliance," Mr Kennis said.
Wagga Police Inspector Peter McLay said the fire was not being treated as suspicious, and that the residents were being looked after.
"No one was injured, all the occupants managed to get out of the house, fortunately," Inspector McLay said.
"They are being rehoused by welfare."
