Two men forced their way into a Kooringal home on Kennedy Avenue about 6am today and threatened the resident with a firearm.
The occupant, a man aged in his 30s, was also struck twice in the head before the two men fled on foot with a mobile phone and other items.
Earlier in a separate incident at about 4.30am today, three men forced entry to a home on Lusher Avenue, Turvey Park, and stole a handbag.
Two occupants, who were home at the time, were alerted by the sound of a car alarm, and woke to find three men fleeing on foot along Urana Street.
The bolt of a firearm was located nearby.

Officers from Riverina Police District have launched an investigation into the two incidents. At this stage it is unknown if the two incidents are linked.
