Wagga Boarding Kennels owners Tim and Sarah Mathieson and their three children Elsie, 4, Lila, 3 and Oliver, 1, were not home when their house caught fire mid-morning.
Several days after the fire Mr and Mrs Mathieson said they were "still in complete shock."
"Us along with our children are absolutely devastated," the couple said.
"The children are so sad that they've lost all of their toys, their bedrooms and the only home they've ever known."
They said the boarding kennels are situated far away from the house which meant pets staying there were unharmed.
Mr and Mrs Mathieson said the kennels remain open and fully operational, and it was a relief to be able to tell their clients their pets were safe and out of harm's way.
A GoFundMe set up by Mrs Mathieson's brother has raised over $6000 for the family.

The couple said the "overwhelming" support they had received from both friends and strangers would help them rebuild their lives and give their children a sense of normality during the difficult time ahead.
"We will never be able to thank everyone enough but we would like them to know that we are forever grateful, they have all made such a horrible situation just that little bit easier to deal with," Mr and Mrs Mathieson said.
"We would just like to express again how grateful we are to everyone who has taken the time to call, message and donate, especially when we know how tough times are for a lot of people."
