Stage three was set to be implemented on Friday, but with five new coronavirus cases diagnosed in the capital the move has been paused.

At this stage clubs are still able to have contract training and intra club matches but trials or games can not be played.

Capital Football will meet with clubs to discuss planning ahead of another government checkpoint.

Wanderers director Brendan Flangan expects to know more after the meeting but remains optimistic delays won't be too significant.

"Hopefully they've locked it down quick enough and we can get on with the season," Flanagan said.

The Wanderers are drawn to open their National Premier League Two campaign against defending champions ANU in Wagga on July 18.

Meanwhile Albury City will reassess whether it can contest the Pascoe Cup season in Wagga next week.

The club was set to face Tolland on Sunday, but the fixture has been abandoned after NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian advised against people travelling to and from the Border.

City coach Ricky Piltz said his side's plans will be put on hold for a week.

"We can understand where Wagga is coming from and we're doing everything we can to assure them, but it's up in the air at the moment," Piltz said.
