Police have arrested a man after finding a gun and ammunition during a vehicle stop in North Wagga yesterday.

About 2.30pm on Thursday, officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command stopped a Mazda 3 on William Street, North Wagga.
The driver, a 44-year-old man, underwent a roadside breath test and provided a positive result.
Following a search of the vehicle, police located a firearm, ammunition, laser pointer and a large knife concealed within a black sports bag. These items were seized for forensic examination.
The driver was arrested and taken to Wagga Police Station, where he was released pending further inquiries.
Inquiries are continuing into the items seized.
