Dylan Wooden is a finalist in this year's Real Estate Institute NSW Awards for Excellence for his success in commercial sales with Raine and Horne.
"I used to be a trainee accountant doing uni part time and working part time, but it wasn't right for me and I knew I had to make a change," Mr Wooden said.
That change has led to a one and a half year long career in commercial real estate, entering the industry during challenging times.
"Starting in commercial real estate is a bit different to residential as it is, and it has been a really tough six months with the bushfires and now coronavirus," Mr Wooden said.
"But I've found that if you just keep delivering really good service, people will keep coming back and that's what it's all about."
Mr Wooden is one of three finalists who have been nominated for the Achievement Award which celebrates new comers to real estate.
His first sale would go on to see a successful career, which he puts down to detail, care and dedication.
In other news:
"It was a pretty exciting first sale for me, about $1.375 million, so that was great especially given it was during the pandemic," he said.
"I really want to pick up the standard of commercial agents here in Wagga and show that attention to detail pays off, as well as making sure I have happy, satisfied clients.
"After I make a sale, I always try to go back and check in on the client to see how business is going for them and if they're happy with their decision, so I think they appreciate someone who genuinely cares and keeps in touch."
This year there are 11 agency categories and 12 individual categories for the Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner, which is scheduled for October 30, 2020.
Mr Wooden is a finalist in his category alongside Jayden Hurvitz from One Buyers Agency and Kristy-Elizabeth Parker from Kitty and Miles.
