Seaton will make his return to rugby league this season, but it won't be with Albury.
Instead he's linked with fellow Thunder premiership-winner Cameron Breust at Brothers.
Seaton was always in Breust's sights after landing the coaching role at the Wagga club and with the impact of the coronavirus on border-based competitions it has now become a reality.
Breust is thrilled to have him on board.
"He's won three premierships with the Thunder and is a very handy addition to have," Breust said.
"We tried to sign him before the season started and he was all but committed.
"However he was helping the club (Tallangatta) a fair bit and now that the comp has been cancelled.
"We promised each other after we won the premiership in Albury we would play one more year before he hangs the boots up and this was the perfect opportunity for us to play one more year together."
Seaton made the switch to Australian Rules club Tallangatta in 2017. and has been their vice-captain.
However he arrives in Wagga with plenty of rugby league experience after being part of Albury's three-peat last decade.
The last in 2014 was alongside Breust.
Seaton made his impact during Albury's golden period in the centres.
It remains an option for his return to Group Nine, especially with Ethan McKenzie not playing due to a knee injury, but Breust is unsure where he will slot into the side.
"Obviously he will find his feet and we haven't really found a position for him yet." Breust said.
"He hasn't played rugby league for two or three years so we'll get a feel for him at training and go from there.
"He was a centre but he's a lot fitter now coming across from Aussie Rules so whether he comes off the bench and plays at lock or somewhere in the middle for us or he goes out wide and into the centre."
Seaton's arrival comes off the back of snaring reigning Group 20 Player of the Year Hayden Philp since the Group Nine season was given the green light to start on July 18.
Breust is pleased with how the team, who have only lost former captain-coach Peter Little from last year's side, is shaping.
And with a shortened season knows they are going to have to be.
"I think the competition is going to be built all around attack," he said.
"You've only got one chance to beat each team and I think you are going to see teams transform to be attacking, attacking, attacking as you can't lay down and try to slog it out.
"It is going to be all guns blazing to try and get the two points each week as if you must out of a couple of the two points then you miss out on finals."
Breust admitted there were a few sore bodies after the club's first contact training session on Thursday as restrictions continue to lift.
Brothers start their season with a clash against Kangaroos at Equex Centre.
