The Boiled Lollies are preparing for the four-team first grade competition and have been buoyed by plenty of new faces.
Former Brothers coach Peter Little is among those to join former teammate Schreiber in Southern Inland this season.
However president Dan Ribot doesn't want to place too much pressure on the star playmaker.
"I think he's just looking to have some fun," Ribot said.
"He's a natural leader and is a switched on football player.
"He's great at getting behind the guys and getting the best out of them at training.
"I can only imagine what he can do on a football field but it is just a question of where he would like to play and to what level.
"There is no doubt in my mind he'll play first grade if he likes but we have to make sure he enjoys his footy."
Brothers Steve and Brody Tracey have also linked with the club after electing not to play with Southcity this season.
Both were with the Group Nine club in the pre-season but will return to the 15-man game.
Older brother Steve is no stranger to Southern Inland and was part of the Waratahs premiership in 2016.
Both are recent additions to training.
"I think they are just having a year off league," Ribot said.
"I don't know if they want to play first grade but they are at the club.
"If they would like to play first grade obviously there is a spot for them."
Wagga City start their season with a clash against CSU on July 18.
Former coach James Curgenven is expected to be the only loss from the side who just missed out on a return to finals this season.
That includes former Bill Castle Medal winner Noa Rabici, who played for the club at the very end of the season.
Schreiber will also be utilised in a playing role.
Ribot said players are ready and excited about playing some footy.
With contract training allowed for the first time this week one real focus will be on scrums and line outs.
