"Adelong Police Station is now operational, however some external works are still in the process of being completed," a police statement said.
"An official opening will be scheduled in due course."
The new $1 million project to build a new police station was approved by the NSW government in the 2019/20 state budget.
The new station is located at 91 Tumut Street opposite the Mobil service station.
Adelong's original station is located on Campbell Street and parts of its building date back to 1855.
The town has previously lobbied state ministers to start building the new station in 2018 after $1 million was set aside but little progress was made.
Police Minister at the time Troy Grant said Adelong's Police Station had "reached its used by date" and regional police officers needed "modern facilities and equipment".
