The four-year-old won a heat of the Multiquip series at Menangle last month before finishing seventh in the group three final.
After drawing wide Maguire was still pleased with his efforts but believes barrier two is a big boost to his chances of qualifying for another group three final.
"The barrier draw helps and it puts you into the race to start," Maguire said.
"I was real happy (last time) but the draw just makes it hard in that class of field. He couldn't do anymore than what he did from that draw.
"His individual time was as quick as what he went in the heat and you can't ask for any more than that."
David Kennedy's Georgie Martin has drawn six in the same heat.
Riverina owners pacers Whereyabinboppin (five) and Island Banner (nine) line up in the first heat while Majadore has drawn three in the third for Tony Peacock.

PRIZEMONEY has been restored to pre-COVID levels across NSW.
As of Wednesday, races at category A meetings will be worth $6500, while category B meetings will offer $6000 races.
Harness Racing NSW will then undergo further consultation with industry participants about a greater split between the two categories that could see A class races increased.
Chairman Ken Brown AM informed participants that the reopening of TAB outlets throughout the state combined with revised wagering revenue forecasts paved the way for the return of prizemoney levels.
