It had been eight months between wins for the five-year-old, but he couldn't have been more impressive at Riverina Paceway.
He went on to take an 18.9-metre victory, clocking a fast mile rate of 1:55.9 in the process.
Micallef is confident he can back it up at Young.
"I think old Billy will be hard to beat again," Micallef said.
"He's always been thereabouts and is pretty consistent but always needed a draw.
"He has been drawing bad but last week was the first time we could use him early and get across comfortably.
"I think we will be looking to do the same at Young."
Micallef has five drives across the six-race card, all for father David.
Our Sams Home is out to make it three wins in his last four starts while Micallef also drawn well with Overcharged, who he expects will be better suited by the sprint trip.
"She was really disappointing last time but I think first up over the distance for a long time took the edge off her as well," he said.
"Being back over the short with her good gate speed we will hopefully be behind the leader and get a nice little tag along."
