Co-ordinator Isobel MacCallum and her team have worked tirelessly to get in touch with ticket holders, process refunds and exchange tickets for new performance dates.
Since many of you have spoken with Isobel in recent times, it makes sense that we introduce her next in our "getting to know the people behind your theatre" series.
Isobel MacCallum, box office co-ordinator
Started: March 2006.
What do you do at the theatre?
I get the shows on sale and aim to sell as many tickets as possible. Our patrons are really important to me and while I love a chat at work it's special to discuss last night's concert over the frozen goods at the supermarket.
What's the best part of your job?
The anticipation. The fact that every single ticket purchase means that someone is looking forward to seeing a show.
When I'm not at work you will find me:
My husband is a keen mountain bike rider and we often go for rides together.
Why do you work in the arts?
When I saw the initial job advertisement to work at the theatre, I remember saying out loud "dream job". That hasn't changed even though I've been at the Civic Theatre for 14 years.
What's one thing you can't resist?
Would you like a glass of wine with that? Yes please.
Use three words to describe the Civic Theatre:
My favourite lady.
How do you define success?
Having enough. Not being stressed about money or health. Also selling ALL the tickets to ALL the shows.
I have found it incredibly sad to cancel and reschedule all our programmed shows.
I felt like I was dismantling joy.
