The uncertainty surrounding Canberra Demons' season led Corbett to decide upon a return home to the Lions for 2020.
Corbett won the Riverina League leading goalkicker title as an 18-year-old in 2018 when he booted 70 goals from 14 games.
He tested himself at NEAFL level last season, where he played eight games for Canberra and returned 14 goals, including five against Aspley late in the season.
Corbett revealed the Riverina League's proactive approach to playing sparked his decision to return.
"The uncertainty of the NEAFL and under the circumstances with COVID and that, I'm probably happier at home," Corbett said.
"The RFL has been so proactive about it. They were probably the first league to get a starting date and Ganmain, I think they were the first to get training, so that excited me a bit."
GGGM coach Christin Macri is delighted to have Corbett back at the Lions.
"He's decided for the second half of the year, with the shortened season, he knows us, knows the club so it's a lot better option than trying to fit in Canberra," Macri said.
"He's been back and forth between home and Canberra with work so we're excited to have him back."
Corbett helped the Lions to a preliminary final appearance in his last season at GGGM and Macri acknowledges what the 20-year-old's return means to the club's flag prospects.
"It's an added bonus that we didn't have at the start of the year and it certainly helps with some planning," he said.
"But having said that, there will be other clubs in the some boat that will get really good footballers back too so we'll just have to wait and see how it all plays out. But we're very excited."
Dan Foley will also play at the Lions. He was going to explore his opportunities with the Demons in the NEAFL under permit but will now solely be based at GGGM.
Meantime, Leeton-Whitton have began it's recruiting spree with clearances in for the return of club juniors Liam Frazer, Hugh Collins, Tyh Evans and Jake Wood.
