Owner of Falls Creek, Hotham and Perisher, Vail Resorts, announced their COVID-19 Safe Operating Plan for its Australian resorts which includes a massive reduction of guests to ensure social distancing is adhered to.
The plan said it is "focused on protecting employees, guests and the communities the company operates in".
"All three resorts will operate at approximately 50 percent of normal capacity to enable physical distancing measures per current government guidelines," the plan said.

Other safety precautions will include reduced lift operations to allow for physical distancing with guests having to ride solo, unless they live together and access to resorts only with pre-purchased passes.
Chief operating officer Australia Pete Brulisauer said they are committed to providing guests with information.
"So they can make informed decisions for themselves and their families," he said.
"Skiing and snowboarding at our resorts will be different this season, but we feel confident we'll provide a great guest experience.
"If we see further easing of physical distancing rules, we will adjust our operations to expand services while continuing to prioritise safety."
Lift tickets will be available in limited quantities for advance purchase online from Monday, with on-the-day lift ticket purchases at the resorts not available.
There will be a daily lift tickets sales limit to provide physical distancing.
Accommodation providers will also be forced to operate at reduced capacity.
It isn't known what financial impact the later start to the snow season and reduced numbers will have financial on the resorts.
Vail Resorts didn't respond to questions put to them by The Border Mail.
