Frank Cleary met the love of his life Pauline just three days after moving to Wagga in 1953, and the two of them fell madly in love almost immediately.
During their dating phase the two of them could be found nearly every weekend at the dance halls, which were all the rage in Wagga back in the olden days.
Those first giddy dates took place when they were in their early 20s nearly 70 years ago, but Frank remembers them as though they happened yesterday.
"We'd have a dance at the tennis club on Saturday night and then on Sunday we'd have another dance at St Josesph's," Frank said.
In other news:
Occasionally they would go on movie dates or go on walks together, but for the most part the two of them bonded over the dance floor.
They lived in Albury for brief stint, but they spent the majority of their life together in Wagga where they would go on to have four children and 11 grandchildren.
Pauline supported Frank throughout his law career, and these days Frank is returning the favour by caring for her as her health begins to decline.
"He does everything - the washing the cooking - he's been absolutely fantastic," Pauline said.
"He's just wonderful. I'm really quite serious about this."
Their daughter Melanie Murray said she envies her parents' relationship, which has always remained strong.
"They're just an awesome team and the two of them can overcome anything together," Mrs Murray said.
