Another One ($2.35) backed up his eye-catching performance on debut with an all-the-way victory in the $24,500 Kooringal Stud Lamont 2YO Classic (1300m).
In what was a great day for Wagga horses, Another One highlighted what a promising future he has ahead, proving far too good for his rivals by one and three quarter lengths.
Colvin is excited by what lies ahead for Another One.
"Yeah, he's still growing, he's a very leggy two-year-old and still has to grow into himself," Colvin said.
"But I liked how he hit the line a bit, he did it pretty easy today really. I'm looking forward to what's ahead, he could be an exciting horse. If he stays sound, we could have a bit of fun with him.
"It's all in front of him because he's still maturing."
Another One will now head to the paddock for a spell.
He was a luckless second behind Lion's Roar on debut at the Wagga Gold Cup carnival, and then was a late scratching from the Jack Maher Classic at Wodonga last month.
Colvin said it was some consolation for the 'schmozzle' at Wodonga.
The win was also the first leg of a winning double for Wagga jockey Nick Heywood, who was successful later on Danny Williams' debutant Double Wraps ($3.50).
Meantime, Wagga trainer Trevor Sutherland enjoyed a race-to-race double on Friday courtesy of Jungle Book ($5.00) and Benno's Boy ($4.20).
It made it two wins inside a week for Jungle Book, while Benno's Boy was successful at start number 161. It was his 16th career win.
Trainer Wayne Carroll and owner John Keough also had success with Ember ($9.00) in the Royans Wagga 3YO&Up Maiden Plate (1300m).
